doing better than last year...

last year: term paper completed at 5am the night before it's due, having started writing it about three days before the deadline.

this year: term paper #1 completed at 2am the night before it's due, having started writing it a full week ahead (or a good two months ahead if the slide deck for the conference presentation version counts as a first draft). term paper #2 exists in complete first-draft form, needing only to be revised.

we'll see if this year's papers are received better by the relevant professors than last year's were.
