odd little things

I just noticed that whenever I load up my friends page LJ redirects me through this:

http://zwol.livejournal.com/__setdomsess?dest=http://zwol.livejournal.com/friends/&k=ljdomsess.zwol&v=(elided)//Thanks+for+signing+in+/+LiveJournal+loves+you+a+lot+/+Here+have+a+cookie

I wonder how long that's been there...

I would guess it appeared when they decided to give everyone their own domain (to mitigate some possible security risks, I seem to recall, possibly having to do with everyone being logged on to the same domain?) And that's just the redirect that makes it possible to set the livejourna.com cookie on e.g. zwol.livejournal.com.

I hadn't noticed the part dangling after the "v" variable, though. Good catch :)
