Oct. 30th, 2007 08:59 pmIf you have a big complicated GUI with an embedded text editor, then it would be a wonderful thing if you made that editor actually be Emacs. The whole damn thing, Lisp interpreter on up.
I do entirely understand if you don't want to do that. It is a big ball of hair to swallow, after all. And you would probably have to GPL your precious bodily fluids. And you are attached to your business model, irritating though it is.
But then you MUST NOT copy ANY of the Emacs keybindings. I would much rather put up with the standard Mac-and-Windows keybindings than continually trip over an editor that fakes just enough of the Emacs command set to confuse my fingers into expecting the real thing.
We clear? Good.
P.S. Please take your graphics library out back and throw it in the convenient wood chipper which I will provide for your convenience. It is worse than either of R's, and that is saying something.
