Jul. 28th, 2008 09:27 pmI spent the weekend with my cousins and grandmother in Seattle. We pretty much just hung out on the waterfront; my oldest cousin lives in a houseboat right across from UWashington. We also visited the Agua Verde Cafe and Paddle Club for lunch, and I got to see my grandmother's new apartment. A good time was had by all. I'll be uploading photos when I get home; this camera is something like five years old now (shock! horror!) and nobody makes card readers that can read its cards anymore. And I left the cable at home.
Am writing this from a hotel room in scenic Whistler, which is something like two hours' drive northeast of Vancouver (only 125km, but it's a narrow, winding mountain road). I'm attending the “2008 Firefox+ Summit” which is basically one of those things where they fly everyone who hacks on a particular piece of software into one place so they can all talk directly rather than by email. I haven't figured out which talks I'm going to attend yet. They keep rearranging the schedule on me. I hope I can find some time to get out and see some of the scenic.

Date: 2008-07-29 05:47 am (UTC)It's, in the abstract, a good thing that memory cards now come in a standard format; but I think the only thing we have that uses that format is your fancy new camera (plus various reader slots on things that have hard drives, of course, but that doesn't count)
